For February 14th, here are the 14 most liked Marquette University places on foursquare. Happy Valentine’s Day!
A Valentine for Marquette University:
“We’re here to show thee our love is strong.
Hail Alma Mater! Marquette! Hear our song.”

Thirteen years ago, my girlfriend and I were enjoying Merlot at a Chilean wine tasting hosted by Marquette’s Haggerty Museum of Art. Father John Naus. S.J., spotted me, and I’ll never forget his next words.
“Introduce me to your wife,” he said.
I blushed. My girlfriend and I had been dating for two months. I introduced Father Naus, then special assistant to the university president, to my girlfriend, saying that last word with emphasis.
Father Naus laughed and said, “Oh, we’ll see about that.”
Just 309 days after the museum event, I proposed to my girlfriend. After a year-long engagement, we were married.
Father Naus knew. He was only off by 674 days.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Marquette!

I found this Gustave Flaubert quote on a table top in Marquette University’s Lalumiere Language Hall. Translated from French, the quote reads “If you could read my heart, you would see the place I have given you there.”
