I love the engraved “AMDG” on the cornerstone of Marquette University’s Haggerty Enginneering Hall. AMDG, the Jesuit motto, means Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (“For the greater glory of God”).

Week 18: Haggerty Hall
Haggerty Hall features classrooms, engineering material labs, computer labs and a first-floor sunken study lounge, known as The Pit. Originally called the Engineering Building, the four-story structure opened in 1941. After a $4.7 million renovation in 1988, the Engineering Building became Haggerty Hall to honor Marquette engineering alumnus Patrick Haggerty, co-founder of Texas Instruments.
