A statue of Father Marquette stands in the U.S. Capitol building. The U.S. Senate accepted this statue of Father Jacques Marquette, S.J., on Apr. 29, 1896, 117 years ago today. While @FatherMarquette was born 375 years ago, his Marquette University statue is just seven years old. This bronze version of the Jesuit explorer was dedicated on Sept. 23, 2005.
